emergency revalidation
Eduardo Braga’s replacement takes advantage of the proposals presented by senators Rose de Freitas (Podes-ES) and Dário Berger (MDB-SC) to carry out the 2020 emergency Revalidation, as a way of guaranteeing more doctors in the fight against covid-19.
— This is a fair and necessary solution to meet the wishes of those who sought medical training abroad and to provide medical assistance to the most needy locations — highlighted the rapporteur.
The text amended the Revalidation Law (Law 13,959, of 2019) to determine that the exam will be monitored by the Federal Council of Medicine, allowing the participation, in the second stage (of clinical skills), of public and private higher education institutions that have medical course with evaluations 4 and 5. Universities interested in participating in Revalida will sign an act of adhesion.
The Revalidation will be carried out, on an emergency basis, within a period of up to 90 days from the beginning of the effectiveness of the change in the law. Holders of medical diplomas issued by a foreign higher education institution may participate in the emergency exam, requiring legal residency in Brazil, in the case of foreigners.
